What do you want me to say?

All things considered, Tom Brady’s hand did a pretty good job in the AFC Championship. For the next two weeks, and maybe even longer, sports analysts around the world will heap praise on the performance. Gutsy. Fearless. Heart. Tough.

But ah, ah, ah… not so fast. TB12 might be out here tootin’ his own horn, but Bill Belichick knows a thing or two about injuries himself. Was he impressed? Kinda.

Here’s a transcript of the post game exchange.

“Bill, did anything have to change gameplan-wise because of Brady’s hand?”

[long silence]

“Not that I’m aware of, Bob.”

“Can you just speak to the resourcefulness of Tom, dealing with that midweek and then coming out and having a huge game like that?”

“I mean, look, Tom did a great job. And he’s a tough guy. We all know that. But we’re not talking about open-heart surgery.”

Vintage Belichick. You can act like you don’t like him. But you know, deep down, you need him.

Can’t wait for the Super Bowl Media Day.
